“Buy Bitcoin” Google Searches Just Spiked 800%

October 31, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

TL; DR

  • Over the past week, Google searches for “Buy Bitcoin” have increased by 800% worldwide.

  • We haven’t had a family member randomly text us asking how to safely store Bitcoin, which is usually our “canary in the coal mine” for major shifts in public interest regarding crypto…

  • In fact, this spike in interest could just be a one-time event, thanks to an isolated moment in the news cycle (looking at you, I see Bitcoin ETF rumors).

Full story

Okay, so we’re clearly not yet at the “every man and his dog is talking about crypto” point in the market cycle.

But we may not be far off! Check this out…

In the past week:

  • Google searches for “Buy Bitcoin” have increased 800% globally.

  • “Should I buy Bitcoin” searches are up 250% in the US.

  • “Can I buy Bitcoin on Fidelity?” in the US increased by more than 3,100% (!)

  • While “is it a good time to buy Bitcoin?” saw a 110% gain globally.

Now we must mention:

We haven’t had a family member randomly text us asking how to safely store Bitcoin, which is usually our “canary in the coal mine” for major shifts in public interest regarding crypto…

In fact, this spike in interest could just be a one-time event, thanks to an isolated moment in the news cycle (looking at you, I see Bitcoin ETF rumors).

Anyway, it’s not a bad sign!
