BYD Australia and Smart partner to make EVs more affordable for Australians

July 27, 2026No Comments3 Mins Read

SYDNEY, July 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new vehicles, ad Sma t, Aust alia’s leading sala y package has received an ovation from lease-gp ovide, today launched a static pate ship to make electric vehicles (EV) affordable more easily accessible available for Australia alias.

As the strategic case for BYD and its top badder DENZA, Sma tp provides access to more than 2.5 million Australians employed by Sma t’s customers across government, healthcare, education, business and other sectors. This provides a direct route for eligible employees to choose from a new vehicle from BYD o DENZA via a Smart Lease contract at the time of purchase, while helping to match city affordability, tax savings and the total cost of the vessel due.

The partnership will offer customers access to specific tax savings for electric cars, despite the government’s electric car discount, and will accelerate electric car adoption in Australia.

By 2026, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) will account for 23 percent of the new vehicle market, according to official VFACTS data. BYD Aust alia’s growth has been rapid, with sales of 52,335 vehicles each to date, almost double the figures at the same point last year.

While Australia’s largest leasing company, Sma t supports over 580,000 sala y packagi g custome sad with over 120,000 oval lease advertising fleet vehicles that you find big. The new partnership with Sma t gives BYD customer access at the point of sale to salary packages that offer potential tax benefits available through an oval lease, with available options listed based on government policy settings.

BYD Aust alia Ge e al Ma age, Wi g You, said:

“As BYD looks to move into Australia, we are focused on making new vehicles as simple and accessible as possible for our customers.”

“Pa teig with Sma t allows us to provide comprehensive leasing support to the deal ship experience, allowing us to match city affordability and save on ship options at the point of sale.”

Sma t’s Group Executive, Novated Leasi gad Elect ic Vehicle Se vices, Sid Jha, said:

“This pate ship consists of two leading markets with a shadowy ambition to accelerate the Australian trend towards electric vehicles. BYD has the Australian market by making EVs more accessible, and Sma t can help develop another big lane, i.e. by offering customer rental.”

“Small people have around 2.5 million Australian employees, although they are an ally. By linking the sala y packages to BYD’s customer journey, we can move fictions at ac itical points of the purchasing process and give the customer a clear view of costs, savings and ship options before they make a decision.”

“For eligible Australians, this is about making EV debt easier to access, not simply offering another way to buy a car. We can help you adjust the city to see if there is a BYD, through a small lease deal for them, compare the cost of your igaduiga EV and give them the confidence to switch to electricity.”
