Uh oh! SBF wants to testify…

October 27, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

TL; DR

  • SBF’s lawyers are ready to call a number of witnesses in an attempt to convince the jury of his innocence.

  • The last witness to take the stand? It will be none other than Samuel Benjamin Bankman-Fried.

  • The big question is: Will Sam continue to play the “aw shucks, I think I got a little out of my depth and accidentally made a mistake” card? If he does, we may be about to see a public self-destruction of historic proportions.

Full story

As of today, the federal government is finalizing its case against Sam Bankman-Fried.

This means that SBF’s lawyers are at work and will call a number of witnesses in an attempt to convince the jury of Sam’s innocence.

The last witness to take the stand?

It will be none other than Samuel Benjamin Bankman-Fried.

Here’s why this has everyone on the edge of their seats:

After FTX went bankrupt, Sam had (and apparently still has) an attitude of “I can convince anyone of my innocence, if only given the time and the right reach.”

That’s why we saw him on the media circuit, while everything around him went up in flames – he thought he could talk his way out of it.

That’s typically a terrible idea, and only helps prosecutors build a case against you (there’s a reason we all have the “right to remain silent”).

The big question is:

Will Sam continue to play the “aw shucks, I think I got a little out of my depth and accidentally made a mistake” card?

(Especially after several witnesses stated under oath that he knew very well what he was doing).

If he does, we may be about to see a public self-destruction of historic proportions.

We’ll let you know what happens once Sam takes the stand.
