Open sea has just launched a number of new features in what the platform calls ‘OpenSea Studio’.
OpenSea Studio’s features feel like a much-needed check on how the entire NFT creation/buying process currently functions.
This is what we get:

Easy hitting. No more jargon, no more technical hoops to jump through. Create NFTs with a few simple clicks.

Blockchain compatibility. If there is a blockchain that is already supported on plain old OpenSea, then it is also supported on OpenSea Studio.

Easy payments. The platform allows collectors to purchase NFTs using credit or debit cards.

No coding skills required. Not technically savvy? No problem.
Is this a game changer? Ehhh, yes and no…

These are all staples of the Web2 space.
BUT! These standards are not yet universal in Web3 – so groundbreaking or not, they are very welcome!
Here’s what else we would have liked to see:

This is a change that would end the viability of royalty-free marketplaces and restore balance to the Force NFT space.
OpenSea pledged to continue enforcing royalties late last year, but backtracked when that stance started to lose the platform market share.
And we get it! They run a business… but at the same time, the almost instantaneous change in position lost them a lot of confidence in the creator.
Add a feature that will get the royalties back once and for all?
That would be a great comeback story!
