Zklend has officially launched his recovery portal, making users hit by the 12 February of the platform and operates to claim their lost funds.
The decentralized loan protocol announced The activation of the portal on a post of 5 March on X, where users are advised to verify communication through official channels before they have access to their claims. The exploit ran $ 9.6 million from the Polish of Zklend, so that the platform must stop the recordings and investigates the infringement.
Shortly after the hack, blockchain security company Cyvers reported That the stolen funds were bridged to the Ethereum (ETH) network. De Hacker tried to launder the money via Railgun, a privacy protocol. Railgun’s internal policy, however, forced the return of the stolen assets to the original address of the hacker.
After the attack, Zklend tried to negotiate with the hacker and offered a “white hat” executor of 10% in exchange for the return of the remaining 3,300 ETH. The funds were not collected despite a deadline of 14 February. To detect the stolen funds, Zklend has called in the help of law enforcement and leading experts from Binance Security, Starkware and the Starknet Foundation.
Zklend described his recovery plan on 20 February. Deposits in non -tested Polish would be fully repaid, while affected users would receive partial compensation and a clryposition in the Zklend recovery pool. The recordings are planned to start two weeks after an audit of the claim portal.
Experts who assess the incident suggest that the hack was not due to a failure in Starknet’s evidence system, but rather an error in contract logic. The hack highlights common problems with smart contract security in the Defi industry.
Although the recovery portal offers a path for affected users, the full management of the exploit of Zklend will be closely viewed while the platform works to rebuild trust.
