Connect announced On 11 February the Legacy Mesh, a system designed to connect USDT0 and existing USDT implementations in multiple blockchain networks.
The integration includes Tron, Ton, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Ink and Berachain, creating a united framework for Stablecoin interoperability.
The Legacy Mesh offers connectivity for chains where USDT has already been established, making the seamless movement of liquidity possible. Arbitrum serves as the Hub chain, which connects USDT and USDT0 networks.
Tether and Layerzero announced USDT0 on January 16, a multichain version of USDT powered by the Omnichain fungible token (ort) Standard. Often cross-chain liquidity makes possible without intermediary bridges or packed assets using a decentralized network of Oracles and relayers.
Multichain without bridges
Existing cross-chain USDT solutions are currently dependent on third-party bridges, leading to liquidity fragmentation and complex token management.
According to the announcement, Arbitrum makes Native USDT0 interoperability possible, giving users access to liquidity pools efficiently. The Legacy -Mesh also improves the depth of the Defi protocol and positions Arbitrum as a liquidity hub for stabilecoin transfers.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, stated:
“The Legacy-Mesh brings 138 billion USDT together, making it a crucial progress for a united dollar system on the chain. It simplifies the liquidity movement of chains such as Tron and Ethereum in ecosystems such as Ton and the USDT0 networks in a fully permissionless and self-sufficient way. “
The Legacy Mesh uses Ethereum, Tron and Ton-Liquidity pools, which makes it easier for cost-effective and safe transfers via Layerzero messages. It connects USDT implementations with the largest USDT0 implementation on Arbitrum, so that 98% of all USDT is merged within a uniform system.
Transfers within the legacy gauze and arbitrum are live. Multihop transfers from legacy mesh chains to USDT0 networks outside of arbitrum, including ink and berachain, are planned.
As the liquidity moves quickly through multiple decentralized ecosystems, USDT must have a seamless multichain alternative to remain the Stablecoin market leader.
