Solana has its “America is back – time to accelerate” advertisement, after intense criticism from the cryptoma community on X, with labels such as “offensive”, “shrink” and “division”.
The advertisement now deleted on Monday was posted a few minutes before noon in New York and had more than 1.4 million views through dusk. The post contained patriotic themes and apparent political messages, in particular against gender diversity.
What attracted the attention of the crypto community was a scene in the video in which a young man, supposedly therapy underwent for ‘rational thinking syndrome’, the following rule said: “I want to invent technologies, not slaughtered.”
Solana did not respond to requests from Decrypt For comment on the issue. Solana has not made an official statement about the removal of the advertisement at the time of the press.
While the video has been removed, it has been re -posted By different users on X.
“This is perhaps the most poisonous piece that I have ever consumed. It is just like the Coinbase advertisements when they have been made by an incel that the basement did not leave in years,” written Tyler Bench, CRO of On-Chain Governance Platform Tally.xyz.
The controversial advertisement reflects the growing tensions within the crypto space on political messages, in which critics argued that the advertisement was contradicted to the fundamental values of neutrality and global inclusiveness of industry.
Anneri van der Merwe, product leader based, criticized the advertisement for missing the brand.
“Offensing, collapsing and pander. Basic is for everyone. Solana co -used the ‘Is for everyone’ also last week. This advertisement shows that there is still a long way to really embrace that ethos,” Van der Merwe claimed On X.
Other industrial figures issued a comparable disappointment. Adam Cochran, partner at Cinneamhain Ventures, doubted the judgment behind its foundation.
“The ‘mind virus’ that is infected, the nation is whatever strange circlejerk is going on in Silicon Valley, where people are convinced that they are oppressed and that this is cool of edgy.” Cochran blanket.
Mentor Reka, CEO of Dex Protocol Avnu.fi, attributed the tone of the advertisement to a deliberate attention -seeking strategy.
“This can be Solana’s least inventive advertisement ever. They clearly went for attention about everything, and well … mission completed, I think,” Reka said.
Even Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko Distent himself From the campaign, which in a position suggests that the previous “Maren advertisement of the company was better”, referring to an earlier, less controversial marketing effort.
Some observers to suggest The advertisement may deliberately be “anger aas” designed to generate buzz through controversy, a marketing approach that runs the risk of alienating substantial parts of the global crypto community.
