OpenAI launched a new initiative to help countries to build artificial intelligence systems that are rooted in democratic values, according to a May 7 May 7 rack.
The OpenAI for Lands Initiative is part of the company’s wider Stargate project and is intended to involve governments in shaping AI frameworks that enforce transparency, accountability and public interest.
According to the company, the program is intended as an alternative to authoritarian approaches where AI is used to concentrate control. Instead, OpenAI wants to support governments in creating systems with which people can decide how AI works for them.
The AI company said:
“We want to help these countries, and spread in the process, to spread democratic AI, which means that the development, use and use of AI protects and protects long -term democratic principles.”
This means that countries would have access to Democratic AI tools that have long reflected existing ideals, such as free speech, fair competition and public supervision.
The company led by Sam Altman added that this vision means that the benefits of AI are widely shared and are not recorded by a few powerful actors. The company plans to start with 10 national projects before the program is further expanded.
OpenAI for countries
OpenAI is planning to work directly with partner countries to set up local data centers, make adapted versions of Chatgpt and to develop national AI strategies with state partners.
The data centers would enable countries to maintain control over their data, to build the technical industry at home and AI tools to adjust to local languages, customs and regulations.
In the meantime, the tailor -made chatgpt versions can improve healthcare, education and public services by offering tailor -made solutions based on regional needs.
Moreover, OpenAI said it will continue to strengthen the safety and security systems around its AI models. This includes physical infrastructure and protocols to ensure that his tools remain reliable and tailored to democratic values.
OpenAi is also planning to launch startup funds in collaboration with every country. These funds will help local entrepreneurs to build AI companies, create jobs and support innovation and at the same time guarantee the coordination of both public and private goals.
