Nigel Farage, the leader of the right-wing reform of Great Britain, is all-in crypto and used an appearance on Bitcoin 2025 this week to show the new emphasis of his coalition.
On stage Thursday at the annual Bitcoin conference, which took place in Las Vegas this year, Farage promised to give priority to Crypto if he became prime minister after the next general elections of the UK in 2029.
During the appearance, the British politician swung to a printed copy of a new piece of legislation, called the crypto assets and digital financial account, which he promised to pass when he was voted in power.
“We will campaign for this and we will put it in place when we win the next general elections,” Farage told a cheering crowd of bitcoiners. “And what we say is: bring crypto and digital assets from the cold.”
The bill, per Farage, would reduce the power gain tax on crypto to 10% (a decrease in the current maximum of 24%); obliges the Bank of England to set up a Bitcoin reserve; And Outlaw British banks to refuse services to customers based on their involvement in Crypto and the crypto industry.
Such alleged practices, dubbed “Debanking,” In recent months, have become a point of mutual sympathy between crypto users and right-wing political figures. Crypto -industrial leaders have long argued that they have been that Denied banking services Based on their connection with the sector, a claim is validated by the government disclosure.
Similarly, figures such as Eric Trump in the United States and Farage in Great Britain have said that they had previously received banking services based on their political views.
On Thursday, Farage told his debt experience and tried to use it as a means to make contact with the crypto-oriented attendees of the conference.
“I went to 10 banks, all of which refused me an account,” he said. “No wonder that so many people go for Bitcoin and go for crypto – because they cannot close you, and that is the ultimate freedom.”
Farage has been a controversial figure in British politics for decades. He previously led the UK Independence Party (UKIP) of the country, which played an important role in passing Brexit – the withdrawal of the UK from 2016 from the European Union. Ukip attracted controversy at the time, even conservatives, for the use of alleged racially charged anti-immigration rhetoric during the campaign.
Shortly thereafter, Farage left Ukip to find the Brexit party, which developed into the reform, and has since had to deal with similar accusations of racism that the party has denied.
During Thursday’s performance at Bitcoin 2025, Farage also revealed that the Reform Party now accepts donations in Crypto via its website. The site currently accepts BTC, Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) and USDC.
The embrace of the Reforming Party of Crypto reflects similar movements in recent months by other right -wing parties and governments around the world, in countries, including the United States, El SalvadorAnd Argentina.
On Thursday, Farage tried to sell the participants in Bitcoin Conference on the platform of the Reform Party by fringing it as similar to the ethos of Crypto.
“We are anti-Instablishing,” he said. “We are disruptors.”
