🏦 Blackrock Eyes tokenized ETFs

The largest asset manager in Wall Street is about to take tokenization mainstream.

Bloomberg Reported that BlackRock is preparing for Tokenize ETFs and other Real-WORLD Asset (RWA) funds, which extends further than its existing on-chain Cash Management Product, Buidl.

The move is awaiting the regulations, but it is an important step in the direction of bringing traditional investment vehicles on blockchain rails.

Blackrock launched Puidl with Securitize in 2024, so that institutions were linked to exposure to American treasury.

Now the company wants to expand that model to ETFs and additional fund structures, which would mark the first time that a traditional manager has mainstream funds on a scale.

Potential types of funds include:

So why do we care about tokenization of assets from the real world?

Tokenized ETFs would:

• Timing: Enable 24/7 settlement and faster transfers
• Composability: Plug assets of these funds in other areas of Defi
• Signal: Crypto becomes “too big to fail” as soon as giants like BlackRock move their entire books on the chain

And bringing this assets onchain is growing the total crypto market capitalization.

No, it does not mean that new liquidity comes to every alt l1 or meme coin.

But it is not a piece to think that it will flow to the best assets, and it will certainly send it stablecoinx Significantly up. Defi Assets would probably also win.
