While American supervisors are taking a more favorable attitude towards cryptocurrency, Bloomberg Reports that the parent company Van Kraken, Payward Inc., is preparing for launching a first public offer in 2026.
If it is successful, the exchange-based exchange based in San Francisco would only be the second listed American cryptocurrency exchange after Coinbase, which became public in April 2021. A spokesperson for Kraken did not comment on a specific timeline, but told Decrypt That public is indeed on his long -term route map.
“We recently announced 2024 financial highlights to be more transparent about our company, something we started by first publishing proof of reserves and we will continue to prioritize the future,” said the spokesperson Decrypt. “We will pursue public markets because it makes sense for our customers, our partners and shareholders.”
While rumors that cracking to public has been circulating online for years, an unfavorable regulatory environment under the administration of former President Joe Biden and former SEC chairman Gary Gary has prevented the company that the company has submitted an IPO.
In November 2023, the US Securities and Exchange Commission filed against Kraken and accused its parent companies of operating the stock market as a non -registered stock exchange, broker, dealer and clearing agency. The SEC also claimed that Kraken customer assets mixed with business funds, using customer accounts to pay costs.
In November, the SEC submitted a motion to reject the most important legal defense of Kraken, with the argument that the stock exchange had prior notice of potential violations of the securities legislation.
But with the election of pro-Crypto-president Donald Trump, the tides of the regulations are changing. Since its inauguration, the SEC has already moved to reject countless examinations and lawsuits to crypto companies – including an agreement in principle to drop his lawsuit against Kraken. After that movement it now seems that Kraken is again considering future options.
