Californian Governor Gavin Newsom announced the Breakthrough project in California On July 15Enabling managers from Coinbase, Ripple, MoonPay and other technology companies to streamline the state’s activities.
Newsom gathered the advisory group at the San Francisco headquarters in Ripple on 6 June. Participants are Ripple Executive Chair Chris Larsen and public managers of MoonPay and Coinbase.
The cohort will collaborate with desk staff to locate bottlenecks in purchasing, recruitment and service supply, proposing challenges -based pilots and retaining transparency and employment consultation during each project phase.
Newsom attached the initiative to the role of California in research of artificial intelligence (AI) and noted that 32 of the world’s 50 largest AI companies are active in the state. He said that access to that Expertise Sacramento enables new tools to quickly test, while the privacy protectors respect.
Executive Order sets implementation -Deadlines
The Governor linked the Task Force with executive order N-30-25, which instructs the government activities to collaborate with the departments of Human Resources, General Services and Technology on three fronts: Hiring the civil servants, the purchasing of information technology create and creating shared contract vehicles.
The order gives each government agency instructs to submit at least one or cheap efficiency proposal within 90 days.
The Office of Data Innovation will expand ‘Engaged California’, a deliberative democracy platform that ideas from state workers crowdsources.
The office must also launch an Innovation Fellows program that assigns selected supervisors to resolve specific operational challenges on 15 August. Departments are required to assign dedicated time for each fellow to complete the assignment.
Coinbase -channels Funds to Fairshake Super Pac
Coinbase supports federal political efforts via fairshake, a crypto -oriented super PAC that reported $ 141 million in cash from 30 June, journalist Eleanor Terrett wrote on July 15th.
The figure includes $ 52 million raised in the first half of 2025, of which Coinbase contributed $ 25 million.
Since the election day 2024 has collected $ 109 million since the election day and a spokesperson said that the group “remains focused on building sustainable support for crypto and blockchain innovation.”
