The influential financial adviser who wrote the book ‘The Truth About Crypto’ from 2021 is reportedly increases his recommended investment allocation for Crypto.
CNBC reports that Ric Edelman, who previously said it was reasonable for no less than 1% to crypto, now says that financial advisers must recommend to allocate between 10% and 40% to digital assets.
Out Edelman in an interview with CNBC’s Crypto World,
“Today I say 40%, that’s surprising. Nobody has said something like that.”
The founder of the Digital Assets Council of Financial Professionals is now more Bullish about Crypto activa in the midst of the enormous changes in the industry.
According to Edelman, Bitcoin and the broader crypto space were confronted with countless uncertainties four years ago – of the possibility of government bans on BTC, to concern about aging blockchain, to questions about whether the acceptance of digital assets would get a meaningful traction.
“Today all those questions have been resolved. It has changed radically and is now a mainstream active.”
Edeman also says that Bitcoin and Crypto must play a greater role in long -term investment strategies as life expectancy in the US increases.
According to the financial adviser, allocating 60% on shares and 40% on bonds no longer work, since Americans can live up to 85 today, or even much older with progress in technology and medicine.
“If you are a financial adviser and you had a 30-year-old customer who saved for their long-term future, you would tell them to place 100% of their money in shares because they still have 50 years to go. Today’s 60-year-old is a bit like yesterday’s 30-year-old.
You must achieve a better return than you can achieve bonds, and you must hold shares longer than ever before. “
Edelman notes that Bitcoin is a great portfolio diversifier, because it does not seem to have been correlated with the performance of other activa classes. He also says that digital assets tend to surpass stocks, bonds, gold and others.
“Bitcoin prices do not move synchronously with shares or bonds or gold or oil or raw materials … The crypto -activa class offers the possibility for higher efficiency than you probably get in almost any other activa class. “
