A consortium led by the founding forces behind the Japanese Metaplanet, known as the ‘MicroStrategy of Asia’, announced plans on 3 July to acquire Thailand’s DV8 Public Company Limited through a voluntary offer.
The cross -border alliance includes UTXO management, Sora Ventures, Kliff Capital, Simon Gerovich, Moon Inc., Asiastratey and Mythos Group. The transaction marks an important step of prominent Bitcoin-oriented investors to expand their Treasury strategy footprint in Asia.
UTXO Management, co-founded by Tyler Evans and founder of Bitcoin Magazine David Bailey, invests in Bitcoin opportunities in public and private markets. Sora Ventures, founded by Jason Fang, is known for supporting more than 40 companies in the Bitcoin, Defi and Web3 sectors.
Kliff Capital, the leading alternative asset manager of Thailand, also participates in the bid. The company was founded by Annie Yang, formerly Van Goldman Sachs and KKR, entrepreneur Tananivit, and prominent financial strategist Kip Tiaviwat.
Gerovich and Fang have led the Bitcoin-Native Treasury model of the Metaplanet. The bid also includes Moon Inc., mentioned on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and Asiastratey, a by the Nasdaq grant that invests in Asian public companies with Bitcoin-Treasury strategies.
Mythos Group, a multi-strategy digital asset company that is active in durffinancing and commercial vessels, is also part of the acquisition effort.
The proposed acquisition unites institutional investors and Bitcoin Treasury leaders from Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and the US. It is expected that the approval of digital assets on Thailand’s capital markets will speed up.
The financial conditions of the offer were not announced.
