Rumors that Apple develops humanoid robots have started to circulate again after Apple Analyst at TF International Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo, on Wednesday tweeted that the world’s largest company is investigating humanoid and non-humanoid robots for his smart home ecosystem.
Although Chatter about Apple’s robotics is increasing after Apple CEO Tim Cook tweeted on Wednesday that people “have to get ready to meet the newest member of the family” during an Apple Lancing event next week, almost nobody believes that the company is a humanoid Robot will introduce. Most speculation indicates a new display of the compact iPhone SE.
Nevertheless, Kuo, who is known for his accurate predictions with regard to Apple’s product trout map – often based on insider information from Asian Supply Chain sources – speculation with his tweet.
“These products are still in the early proof-of-concept phase internally,” wrote Kuo. “While the industry is debating about the merits of humanoid versus non-humanoid designs, supply chain checks indicate that Apple gives more to how users build perception with robots than their physical appearance.”
The push to develop humanoid robots accelerated in 2024, with companies such as Tesla, Figure, Nvidia, Agility Robotics and Boston Dynamics that introduce robots that are designed for human -oriented workplaces. (According to a recent report, Meta even makes important investments in humanoid robotics.)
The rapid progress in AI and robotics have led to daring predictions, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who speculated in October that robots could surpass the people by 2040, so that it could exceed 10 billion in just fifteen years.
Despite these bold predictions, KUO even noted that the timetable for a proof-of-concept design varies, and that Apple’s robot production probably does not start before 2028.
“Many projects never go beyond proof-of-concept,” wrote Kuo. “The Apple car is probably the most striking example of a project that got stuck at this stage.”
This is not the first time that experts have suggested that Apple may introduce a robot to its product setup. And Apple, who produced a TV series with a very Apple-like home robot, is not exactly to descend speculation.

But the form of his first offer could be taken strongly. Kuo indeed noted that Apple used the term ‘anthropomorphic’ instead of ‘humanoid’, which suggests that the robot route map of the company might launch with something that human chores did without looking like sunny.
“Apple Execs are trained on the customer journey,” Futurist and founder said of the non -Uitgede Newsletter, Robert Scoble, said Decodeer. “We have no robots in our houses, and they know that we are not yet ready to have a humanoid robot in ours, so they will start with a variety of more specific, limited robots to get us used to them . “
Although Scoble is skeptical about the ability of Apple to lead to AI and Robotics, he suggested that the robot lamp of the company, which can be seen in a paper of Apple’s Machine Learning Research Division in January, could be a springboard for larger ambitions in humanoid Robotics. (See video below page.)
“If it is done well, and it seems that consumers will help to become comfortable with Apple as robotics,” he said.
Other robotics experts pointed out that, despite the Boston Dynamics videos, the field still has a long way to go before humanoid robots are ready for prime time.
“We are still at the stage to show these robots the environment and behave as people,” Professor Informatics told USC and co-founder of Sahara Ai, Sean Ren, said Decrypt. “The intellectual skills of thinking and then making decisions is at a similar level like chatgpt.”
Phil Elmer-Dewitt, who runs the popular Apple-Blog Apple 3.0, went even further: “As Apple a humanoid robot in 2028 or even 2038, I eat my hat.”
