Actor and noted that Crypto critic Ben McKenzie will make his directorial debut on SXSW London with the premiere of June of his documentary: “Everyone lies against you for money”, according to a report of Term.
The documentary follows McKenzie – Best known for roles on “The OC” and “Gotham” – while he is investigating the cryptocurrency world and interviews key figures, including during a trip to El Salvador to investigate President Nayib Bukele’s regime, which made Bitcoin Legal Payer Loper in 2021.
“When I started to warn people in the fall of 2021 about crypto fraud. Term. “Now many of those boys are in prison and unfortunately millions of investors lost their shirts to these Congms.”
“Everyone is lying against you for money” also contains interviews with Disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and co-founder of Celsius Alex Mashinsky. Both interviews were filmed before their companies collapsed in July and November 2022 respectively.
McKenzie began to explore cryptocurrency in 2021, while the world was still struggling with the COVID-19 Pandemie. Since then he has been a vocal critic, including witnessing the US Senate Banking Committee on FTX.
Released in 2023, the book by McKenzie with journalist Ben Silverman, “Easy Money: Cryptocurrency, Casino Capitalism and The Golden Age of Fraud”, investigated many of the same themes that will touch the documentary.
“Why is the false story of Crypto still spread? That is the question I wanted to answer with this film,” said McKenzie. “I can’t wait for the audience to see that” everyone lies against you for money “, a comedy that treats crypto and the Engers the shilling with the respect they deserve: zero.”
