Aave V3 extends to Aptos as the first blockchain outside the EVM ecosystem. According to the team, the protocol is coming to the Aptos testnet with a possible release on the mainnet. Founder of Aave Stani KULECHOV stressed the paramount importance of the launch for the global adoption of the protocol and for solving the problems of silo liquidity.
Instead of the well-known Solidity EVM language, Aptos uses Move and its associated virtual machine to execute smart contracts. It advocates a completely different approach to blockchain modularity and transaction parallelization. Alternative virtual machines are often cited as one of the hottest crypto trends of 2025. Before expanding to Aptos, Aave had launched 13 blockchains in the EVM ecosystem. It processes $33 billion in net deposits and processes hundreds of millions of dollars every month.
In addition to the Aave V3 rollout, the Aptos (APT) ecosystem lists Tether (USDT), the largest stablecoin, on the IDO launchpad. MoveGPT, Aptos’ flagship early-stage token fundraising, now supports USDT transactions on Aptos. Of the $137 billion USDT spent, almost $450 million in equivalent is minted on Aptos. This means that the blockchain is responsible for 0.3% of the supply of liquid USDT.
