Summary
- Revolut connects its payment rails to Trust Wallet, allowing EEA users to purchase large coins directly on-site and skip custodial accounts.
- The integration will support BTC, ETH, Solana, USDC, and USDT at launch, with no-fee purchase options plus standard gas fees in some cases.
- Revolut’s new MiCA license supports a compatible fiat-to-crypto gateway for Trust Wallet across the European Economic Area.
Revolut and Trust Wallet have launched an integration that will allow users across the European Economic Area to instantly purchase cryptocurrencies and send them directly to their own account, the companies announced.
Revolut continues with crypto plans
According to a statement, the partnership combines Revolut’s payments infrastructure with Trust Wallet’s non-custodial architecture. The integration provides an access point to digital assets with the option of zero fees in certain cases.
Trust Wallet users can buy crypto using multiple Revolut payment rails, including Revolut Pay, card payments and bank transfers, directly in the Trust Wallet app, according to the announcement. Purchases made through the partnership are immediately delivered to the user’s self-custodial Trust Wallet, rather than being initially held in a custodial wallet.
The partnership offers ‘zero-fee’ options in some cases, although standard blockchain gas rates still apply, according to the companies. Total costs may vary depending on the user’s Revolut subscription and payment method chosen.
The initial rollout will support the purchase of key assets including Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), USD Coin and Tether. Additional cryptocurrencies are expected to be added as integration expands, the companies said.
The partnership follows Revolut’s acquisition of a MiCA license, allowing the company to operate crypto services across the EEA under the EU’s unified regulatory framework. The integration connects Revolut’s payment infrastructure to Trust Wallet’s non-custodial platform, providing Trust Wallet with a fiat-to-crypto gateway that complies with European regulations.
