Saesol Tech announced today that its Root Certificate Authority (Root CA) has been successfully validated by the Webtrust Assurance program and has been officially added to the SCMS Manager’s Production Certificate Trust List (CTL). Saesol Tech will be the second organization that appears on the production list in the US
Webtrust is a globally recognized audit program from third parties that verifies the operational integrity and security practices of certificate authorities (CAS). In the V2X environment (vehicle-to-all) environment, where vehicles and traffic tables continue to authenticate messages, recognition as part of the CTL production is a critical milestone for establishing trust in the field. The List of Saesol Tech confirms that the PKI infrastructure can serve as a trusted anchor for V2X devices and infrastructure of production quality.
This milestone follows the successful interoperability tests of Saesol Tech in the Plugfest of Omniair over the years, where several suppliers have validated certificate operations in Board Units (OBUS), Roadside Units (RSUs) and Traffic Management Center (TMC). Transferring these scenarios offers industrial partners a strong certainty that certificates of Saesol can seamlessly integrate expenditure into implementations with multiple suppliers.
Saesol Tech also participates in initiatives led by the American federal government and state governments aimed at promoting connected vehicle implementations. This involvement ensures that there are now several trusted SCMS suppliers on the market, so that government governments and agencies can expand C-ATS services with improved stability and trust. The presence of multiple suppliers also promotes healthy competition, which can lead to higher quality solutions and at the same time help to optimize their budgets.
