An intriguing turn in the trial against co-founder of Tornado Cash Roman Storm arose after a jury member reportedly asked to attend her mother’s birthday.

The jury member reportedly explained that she was obliged to attend her mother’s birthday party all day, including a pedicure.
While the other jury members reportedly agreed to her request, the American district judge Katherine Polk Faila quickly intervened and rejected the proposal.
According to the report, Judge Faila stated:
“I can tell them that I have a conviction later this week, and that other jury members have conflicts. And we want them to sit for part of every day. I think the pedicure should go. And I am sorry to say that. I don’t want to choose her.”
As a result, the within -city report noted that the jury agreed to adjust their timetable for consultation and to continue their discussions with a revised schedule from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM instead of the usual conclusion of 16:00.
The judge stated:

The jury member’s request has led to mixed reactions from legal experts and within the crypto community.
