The Ministry of Communication and Digital of Indonesia has temporarily suspended the world (formerly WorldCoin) and its digital identity platform, World ID, with reference to registration problems and possible violations of the rules for local electronic system.
According to a 4 May rackThe Ministry confirmed that the registration certificate of the Electronic System Organizer (TDPSE) had suspended for both Worldcoin and World ID. This suspension came after the Bureau Inconsistencies discovered in how the project in the country operated.
The Ministry noted that one of the local affiliated companies of WorldCoin, PT Terang Bulan Abadi, could not register as a recognized electronic system organizer.
This status is mandatory for every digital platform that wants to work legally in Indonesia. Instead, the project reportedly carried out its activities under the license of another company, PT Sandina Abadi Nusantara, which expressed concern about the abuse of identity and compliance with compliance.
The director -general of Digital Space Supervision, Alexander Sabar, said that the ministry will call both entities to investigate further.
