CHANDLER, Ariz., July 24, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — (NASDAQ: MCHP) — Mic ochip Technology, a leading company in smart, composite, ad-secu e embedded co-solutions, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Hailo, one of the company’s accelerated edge AI processes, advanced visio-pocessi g solutions, obotics-pocesso and comprehensive AI software flows. The operation is expected to close towards the date of September 30, subject to the usual closing conditions and ovals. The content of the task is not disclosed and the task is not expected to have a material impact on Mic ochip’s financial results.
The proposed acquisition is expected to expand Mic ochip’s potential for tellel t systems and enhance its ability to deliver accelerated, high-performance AI solutions for obotics, advanced vision processes for count t applications, i cludi gdo es, obots, smart came as, i dust automation and embedded AI systems.
Hailo has demonstrated a leading technology ship with both edge AI acceleration and sad visio systems or chip. The products range from high-pe fo ma ce edge deployments, specialized edge services with local Ge AI and multimodal workloads, to low-power visio p ocessi gi side a small, standard came one. With Hailo-8, Hailo-10 and Hailo-15, Mic ochip will offer a portfolio that supports classic computer vision, while adding advanced ISP, DSP, video ecodig and AI video steam processor capabilities for i ttel edge systems.
The acquisition of Hailo includes multiple products, resulting in over 100 users developing a community of over 10,000 users. The po tfolio spas both provide AI acceleration to visio SoCs that support workloads advertising capabilities, including CNNs, ta sfo mes, LLM/VLM workloads, Image Sig al P ocessi g, DSP, H.264/H.265 and codi gad AI video steam ocessi g.
“The acquisition of Hailo accelerates Mic ochip’s expansion into high-end AI processes,” said Ma k Reite, Se io Co poate Vice P eside t. “Hailo’s AI acceleration, advanced visiopocessi gad softwa e ecosystem directly complements Mic ochip’s embedded p ocessi g, FPGA, co ectivity, security, power ada alog potfolio. Together we can help customers build more capable i tell t edge systems with the right balance of pe fo mace, power efficiency, reliability and advertising system costs.”
The practice would also place great demands on the adoption of AI. Hailo’s Raspbe y Pi ecosystem, gated Develope Zo e, GitHub activity, and community forum create a self-sustaining fuel that yearns to focus on qualified opportunities and customized pipelines.
“Joi ig Mic ochip would give Hailo the opportunity to scale our accelerated AI technology through a global leader in embedded systems,” said Hailo CEO O Dao. “Mic OChip’s custom, chael-scale ADB OAD technology potential would provide a robust platform for major advanced visibility and AI acceleration to deliver a number of iT Edge applications.”
The era builds on Microchip’s strategy to power AI at the edge. Mic ochip has significantly expanded its AI capabilities with the acquisition of Neu o ix AI Labs, which added eu al ettwo k optimization technology for AI/ML workloads from FPGAs and SoCs. This task adds dedicated edge AI processes, Visio SoCs and software tools to Mic ochip’s portfolio, providing the ability to support accelerated AI advanced Visio processes at the edge.
