A crypto robbery story went viral on X after a user “wrss29” claimed he was robbed in Bali. In a detailed post, he describes getting robbed of 189 $SOL (approximately $14,000) from his Phantom wallet at a Bali beach club. According to the statement, this happened after handing his unlocked phone to an Australian woman he met to add her on Instagram while drunk on multiple shots.
Allegedly, the victim stayed at the club after his friends left and ran into a group of Australian women, who later on, supposedly robbed him.
Not long after, the group vanished, and when the victim finally checked his Phantom wallet, 189 $SOL had been moved out to another wallet. The alleged victim later posted footage of himself confronting the women and the police getting involved.
The Alleged Victim is Reportedly a Scammer
Some users pointed out that the story doesn’t make sense and that the women in the footage look visibly confused. Additionally, some questioned how the woman managed to access and breach his wallet so quickly. Then, the story took an even bigger turn when another X user, “ImmortalXelf”, claimed the tourist was not simply an unlucky victim.
The post also claims that the person in question is Ronnie Magrehbi, linked to crypto fraud in the past. ImmortalXelf urged the community not to treat him like a random innocent victim.
Yet another X user, “Dethective” (whose account is focused on exposing grifters and scams in crypto), chimed in on the whole situation. Dethective called the story fake and said that the drained wallet doesn’t exist. The user posted screenshots from the alleged victim’s Telegram channel, showing fabricated transaction proofs for giveaways or offers on how to teach to rug.
Dethective called Magrehbi a serial scammer who sold courses on things like wallet poisoning and memecoin rug pulls, and apparently Magrehbi bragged about taking money from a kid with cancer as well.
To make matters worse, wrss29 (Magrehbi) hinted at launching a coin, shared his wallet address, and said that users should direct the fees to him so he can get his $14,000 back.
