The publication quickly sparked intense debate across social platforms. In response, Goicoechea stated that she is receiving “infinite messages” from women seeking ways to protect themselves. “I’m never going to shut up again,” she declared. The model described living in fear while walking the streets of Barcelona and highlighted what she called a daily increase in stabbings and shootings that she becomes aware of almost constantly.
In the same statement, Goicoechea emphasized that her concerns are not aimed at immigration in general but specifically at individuals who commit crimes. She pointed to recidivism, impunity, and insufficient controls on people with serious criminal records as the core issues.
